Airports:

LaGuardia Airport (LGA): Approximate driving time to Hilton New York is 30 minutes and distance is 8 miles.  

John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK): Approximate driving time to Hilton New York is 45 minutes and distance is 17 miles. 

Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR): Approximate driving time to Hilton New York is 45 minutes and distance is 15 miles.  

Taxis (display ‘T&LC’ on license plate)

The quickest and most convenient way to get to and from the airport is by taxi. To and from JFK there is a flat rate of $45 (plus tolls). The approximate one-way fare is averaged at $36 or more from LaGuardia, and an estimated $65 from Newark.  

Important tips for NYC taxis:

  • There is a $1.00 peak-time surcharge for trips from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays.
  • There is a $.50 surcharge for trips from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily.
  • One fare pays for all passengers to one destination.
  • Four passengers (five in minivans) is the limit for New York City cabs. 
  • Meter must read $3.00 at the start of the trip.
  • Effective November 1, 2009, a state tax of $.50 will be added to most taxi trips; but not for trips to New Jersey.
  • Please take your receipt.

Car and van service is also available at airports.

Reservations for shared-ride van and private car services can be made at the Welcome Center located on the Arrivals level of each terminal. If the counter is closed, there is a convenient self-service kiosk nearby where you can contact authorized shared-ride or private car services.

Traveler’s tip: Ignore offers of transportation from solicitors in the terminal. Go to Ground Transportation Information counters, bus stops, and taxi dispatchers for safe and legitimate transportation. Ignore non-uniformed persons offering to assist with baggage. Seek out uniformed porters or airline employees for baggage assistance.

NYC Subway: 

The Hilton New York is located within walking distance of a number of subways stops. 

  • You can take the B, D, F, M trains to the “47-50 Streets Rockefeller Center” stop, exit near West 50th Street and Avenue of Americas (6th Avenue). From there, walk North East (towards Central Park) along 6th Avenue to 53rd Street. 
  • You can also take the E or M trains to the “53rd Street/Fifth Avenue” stop and walk west one block to 6th Avenue.

NY/NJ/CT Commuter Trains: 

From NY/NJ - Take the New Jersey Transit or Long Island Railroad (L.I.R.R) to Penn Station and exit at 7th Avenue -- or -- Take the PATH train to 33rd Street -- then -- Walk one block to the 34th Street/6th Avenue station Herald Square, transfer to one of the uptown-bound subway trains listed above. 
 
From NY/CT - Take Metro North to Grand Central Terminal -- then – Take the 6 train uptown one stop to “51st Street” -- then – Take the E train to “53rd Street/Fifth Avenue” stop and walk west one block to 6th Avenue.
